lplatz
I have enjoyed a rather painless install on my localhost, until this little headscratcher occured. When setting up the database, I of course created all the log-in information for the database. I configured MySQL using phpMyAdmin. Worked like a charm. My issue is that now that I have completed setting up osCommerce on my local host, I have lost phpMyAdmin access to the database. When I attempt access via browser at "localhost/phpMyAdmin/index.php" I am delivered the following error message -- #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) -- I'm not even given the opportunity to provide the user and pw to access the database. All help / hints / solutions greatly appreciated. Les
Guest
Hi! I'm having a similar issue here so I'd thought I'd add it. Please feel free to add this to any dumb user archive you might keep. I actually changed my password to my database in phpmyadmin (I forgot it) as I was installing a contrib. Just wondering if there's an easy way to update the password in OSC so that my catalog can access the mysql database again without reloading the whole catalog. I'd appreciate it. Thanks. rabbitseffort
the answer to the second question is includes/configure.php not sure about the first question "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"
