hangman41 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I am really confused I received payment and info on customer thru admin program, But no order details. All the info arrived like it should except the most important piece the actual order. Is this a setting problem or a paypal problem. Please help. The shop that I am helping set up got the same thing. I am using the Pay Pal merchant account and it seems after testing (someone correct me if I am wrong) the customer goes thru the order process, it changes to paypal for the credit card verification, and after it verifies the CC info, it states something like "complete" but then still has a button to return to the store page. What I figure it that the account was set up and in the customer database because it was done on the site, and the amount of the order transfers to Paypal and the CC transaction happens BUT if they see the complete and figure their is no reson to return to the store, then you storefront is never notified that it is OK to complete the processing of the order. SOOO your customer sets up and account and you can see this, you see the money has been charged to their CC and the money is in your paypal acct, BUT the stuff ordered is never populated as an order int he orders DB. Ayone have any other ideas or knowledge on this? Also if the browser is set to remember the email address of an existing paypal account it defaults to that and doesnt even let the custome attempt to use a credit card, so if they are trying to use a different credit card they are only presented with use the existing pay pal account or create a new one and the customer doesn even see the credit card validation page as an option. UPDATE: This may also help as it appears to be deared toward this problem http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=216542 Another Update I found that may help: Try this contrib: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2679 The problem is the standard worry with PayPal - only some kind of pre-storing contrib will help. There are others which help to store / retriev carts, but the above is specifically for PayPal. It won't solve the email / stock update problem, but at least you'll have a copy of the order in admin. all the best, Terra There is another solution. Install the Better Paypal Description contribution. This will forward the product description to PayPal. In doing so what was ordered will be contained within PayPals' notification of payment e-mail in the item/product title section and also in the record for the sale on their site. This has saved me countless times. Edited July 23, 2006 by hangman41 Quote
