Hi Folks,

Im starting to edit the index.php file - Have not done much this far, only changes some of the text in the text main section. When I save what I have done thus far and run www.nontando.com/catalog I get this error message

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '<' in /mnt/w0511/d39/s22/a0008a62/www/catalog/index.php on line 16

If someone can help me re. where I have gone wrong that will be much appreciated. Im using the file manager in OSCommerce to make these changes.

The error is pointing to catalog/index.php

The code you posted is from catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php

Also, the part that I bolded below will cause a problem, as it is past the closing parentheses/semicolon (after

African craft.');

Now Im really confused. Why would it be referring to catalog/index.php if that is not even the file I changed.

OK, EDIT

====

I just noticed that you are using the file manager. I would recommend avoiding that. It's better to use FTP, to download, save a backup copy, then upload your changed files.

Just do away with the leftover osC example text / table code that I made bold....see where that takes you.

If you are going to edit or do any changes I would use MS Front Page or HTML editor not the File Manage itself on the website.
