Changing text on home page

This is probably the stupidest question ever asked in these forums...but, I've been delegated to update the website and I have NO experience with OSCommerce.

 

I simply want to add some text to the "welcome" section in the center box.

find catalog/includes/langauges/english/index.php and look for define('TEXT_MAIN', and change it there :)

Just remember, anytime you want to change the text that the customer sees anywhere on your site, go to the english.php file or the appropriate file within the english directory. Of course there's acception to the rules, but that handles the majority and most common.
