changing logo.....

I feel really stupid for asking....but my ignorance is not bliss!

 

every time I try to change the logo from the stock oscommerce to my logo it messes up my entire site!

 

here's what I do:

I uploaded the image I want in my html directory of my database

 

when I open up the php file: includes/header it has all these wierd "levels" and I can seem to mimick it....it sounds really simple: just replace oscommerce with whatever you name your image file....but I'm retarded.......can anyone help me?

I should note I was trying to do it server side...should I change the permission codes and do it on the Admin. side of my store?
