Sharepoint style web parts for Oscommerce

Hi all,

 

I have been thinking about this for the last three days. Over the past three weeks i have been working with Microsoft Sharepoint through my work. When you go into edit mode through the web interface you have different "regions" around the page. Each of these regions can hold any "part" of the interface thus giving the ability to easily move different parts of the interface around by using the drag and drop method.

 

For example: The search box, categories, shopping cart and information box etc would each be a stand alone "part". When you enter the "edit" section of the admin directory you would with the help of AJAX be able to select a "part" and drag it to a new section. Perhaps you want the information box to be in the right column and it is currently in the left column. Simply enter the edit web interface and drag it from one side to the other.

 

This would make changes to the layout of oscommerce faster and easier than jumping into the code each time.

 

If there is any contribution out there like this please let me know.

 

If there isnt then i wouldn't mind having a go at this as a little project.

 

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Do you want this feature available?
