Hi:

 

I have a redirector on the root of www.lotions2go.com. My question is, how do I optimize it for search engines if it redirects to the catalog/index.htm?

 

the reason there is a redirector is because of the way that my hosting company installed it, so everything is located at http://www.lotions2go.com/ecommerce/os/catalog/index.php.

Search engines do not really like redirects, if it was me I would move my site up to the root of my domain.

Will that not be a nightmare? and how would I go about doing it. I have at least 1 contrib that uses absolute paths, but there may be more since I added a bunch of them when I first built the site over a year ago.

Very few contributions use absolute paths but if you have such code installed, it will need to be changed. It is better to go through that and get the site into the root than to leave it like it is.
