configure.php permissions

At the top of my oscommerce site i get the error

 

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: public_html/sellsite/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

 

I have tried changing the permissions on the file to 644, 444, and 400, but i still get the error every time.

 

Any help would be grealy appreciated.

If you are cmoding via your ftp program try doing it from the file manager in your hosting control panel and see if that works.
