Guest Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 It actually doesn't seem that bad at all. For a first time install of it, run 2 sql statements, add a code, and upload new files. Now, if you have a previous installation of this contribution, yeah well, the instructions aren't very clear on that.... *shrugs* I may do this one, since I've gone through the trouble of downloading it LOL.
Silverado05 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Try this one also, it will actually add the whois. Did you run the SQL for your Database? Search the forum and contributions before posting. Silverado05 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 No offense Wade, but you have the hardest time installing the easiest of contributions. I mean you only have one file to add code to, add 2 SQL statements, 3 files and some images. Did you get the correct files uploaded to the correct folders. I installed it in under 2 mins with no errors. What FTP are you using? Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post. Silverado05 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Does it do what you would like for it to do? If you click on the IP it will take you to a Whois page and give you the name server and more. Thier is one that will actually give you the whois on the page but it's not very good and doesn't work on some servers. I personally like the one I sent you to. Silverado05 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Yes the v2.00 is the one I am referring to. I was going to suggest another one but it's not very stable. Silverado05 Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I have been using and installing 2.00. I don't know if the two vary much. I know that if you make the correct settings per the instructions in 2.0 it will look like this: Where "User Agent" will be the ISP and the information you're looking for from the vistor. YOu can still click on the IP address and get more information for that IP. Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post.
