Open Store Now

Since I have no clue as to what I am doing and I was wanting to change the store around but have no knowledge do you suggest I open the store with the existing template or wait. I really wanted to get started.

I don't like the cookie cutter template but I fear that if I start trying to change things I will loose everything.

If I start loading the store with stock can it be changed later? Can modifications be made? Can a template be added? Should I start by buying a template now. If I buy a template now can modifications be made to the template or is it pretty much what you see is what you get. Such as if it says gifts will it remain gifts or can you change the wording?
