seige Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 First off, I am reasonably adept at programming. I've been developing marketing websites for about 15 years, almost since the internet was born. However, increasingly I am getting more and more problems with cross-browser compatibility etc. and making sure sites are serviceable across the myriad of OSes, browsers and platforms. It's typical that a site I put together for MYSELF is causing me the most grief! My magic tricks website at www.nothingupmysleeve.co.uk is giving me specific grief with my OSC system I have running. More and more emails are coming through from people who are saying my site is crashing their browser. And it's not just restricted to one browser either... I've had complaints of none-compliance with: Firefox PC Explorer PC Netscape The ONLY thing that I can assume is that the transparent PNG files on my site are causing this grief. The browser crashes range from locking up browsers to simply nothing displaying. Has anyone got any advice, apart from the obvious removal of the PNG files? Quite honestly, as a web designer, the use of transparent PNGs is quite important to me. I would much rather keep them as they are if possible. Regards, Chris Jones
