HOw do you all edit PHP

Hello,

 

I am a proper internet dummy!!

 

How do all you guys edit your PHP files, is it by code or do you use somthing like frontpage design the page and the the program saves as PHP!!!

 

HELP!!!!!! i have tried Frontpage but can only get it to save as JAVASCRIPT!!!

Don't use Frontpage, It is goog for nothing. If you don't have Dreamweaver which I guess you don't or you would be using it. Then the next best thing IMO is PHP Designer. I use it instead of dreamweaver when it comes to editing PHP. It can do all kinds of things like highlight code by the language etc.

That is for the 2006 verison which has some really nice features but it's in beta. So until the final I am going to stick with the 2005 release since it's working for me.

You can't create a page like you do in FrontPage when working with php and oscommerce. All you can do is edit the file, save and upload and then view your site (unless you install a local server like EasyPHP). If you search the forums for "Best Editor" or someting similar, you will find many threads where everyone says there editor is the best. There are many free ones out there that work great. I suggest trying a few until you find one you like.
