VPSsupport Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hi, At the moment when a customer clicks on a category it takes you to the index.php?cpath= page, as we only have one product this page always looks bare. The customer must then click on the product to be taken to the product_info.php page (which isn't always obvious) where we have much more detailed information about the product. This also involves an extra click! Is it possible when a customer clicks on a category that they are taken straight to the product_info.php where we have much more information regarding the product? I could install a product description contribution but I would like to remove the need to go to an extra page as the description would be placed in the index.php?cpath, and tyhe user would still need to click through to the product_info.php page. I hope this makes sense but I think it may help store owners who have very few products. Many thanks, Regards, Clive
Silverado05 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Sounds like you need Wolfen Feature Sets. If you only have a few products then this would be great for you and will place them on the index page and you can remove the navigation all together. Like I said these will place a small image with buy now and short description on the index page with a link that says read more, more details what ever you what it to read. Then you clock on it and it takes you to the product info page. Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post. The forum is for seeking help and advice NOT for someone to do your work for you. Try to do something on your on, if you are going to run a shop then learn how it works.
VPSsupport Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 Hi Silverado, Thanks for taking the time to respond. I am reluctant to try the Wolfen Feature Sets contribution as it only has instructions for a direct replacement of core files used and as I have a heavy modified store I dont want to do this. It would have been nice to try if there was installation instructions for a modified store. We also use our index as a welcome page and would like to keep the navigation structure as it is. Thanks for the post as I may use this contribution on another strore. Any other ideas anyone? Regards, Clive
