Taiwanese Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hi, I am new to OSC and ecommerce. And I need a lot of help. Background: I am in California, USA. I am going to start with 2 items. I set up California sales tax rate of 8.25%. Question: 1. If I put in the price (net) at $100, the gross becomes $108.25 (with tax added). The item will show as $108.25 and this is not right. The item is $100.00, tax is only added if shipping to California address during check out. What did I do wrong? 2. How do I add more pictures under an item? 3. If I set up shipping charge at $5.00, is this per order? What are the different ways of setting up shipping charge? per order? by weight? different shipping fee for every item? Thank you for your help.
Silverado05 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 1. Are you saying you only need tax charged to people in Cail or everyone? Did you add Cail to your zones in the admin panel Locations / Taxes so that it only adds taxes to cail residents? 2. Search the contributions for extra images 3. You can set it up so many different was, just depends on what shipping services you need then go from there. Again their are contriubtions for this as well. Some that will even give you real time quotes depending on thier shipping loction, weight of product, etc. Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post. The forum is for seeking help and advice NOT for someone to do your work for you. Try to do something on your on, if you are going to run a shop then learn how it works.
Taiwanese Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 I found some answer. 1. I did set up 8.25% sales tax for California. My item price will show tax added. I went back to configuration and change "display prices with tax" to false. This way tax is not added. 2. Without adding contribution, only 1 image per item? 3. Without adding contribution, if I put $5.00 for shipping, is this per order?
Cathi Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 #2. yes #3. In your admin, you can set the shipping to charge different amounts based on price or weight, or just a flat rate per order, say $5 like you used for your example. Cathi
