shervin Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 My dad's company has authorize.net, I tried PayPal's Virtual Terminal but those idiots restricted my account (last time I touch paypal). I signed up for FreeCreditCardProcessing.com, was very impressed and happy - approval took a week but then they say I was rejected. Absolute crap. The main thing is I don't want to be stuck in a long term deal (more than 1 year) and I don't want to pay a big set up fee. Any suggestions?
mtechama Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I use Pay Pal Wade Morris Amarillo, Texas Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!
buss Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm wondering the same thing. My company is going to launch an online store soon and we need something that the community generally regards as safe and problem fee. Low fees don't hurt either ;)
HSMagic Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I signed up for Authorize.net via http://www.unitedbankservice.com Seems geared towards the little guy and the setup was not as bad as I had expected. Since I've implemented it 90% of my customers have chosen that option over PayPal.
jasonabc Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 If your volume monthly sales are over $1,000 USD then A.net is a solid choice. The monthly and transaction fees are very low and the Merchant Interface is very nice - they also give you a Virtual Terminal which is very handy for over the phone/fax orders. jasonabc Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 I remember my A.net setup fee being less than $150 - and the transaction fees are way lower than someone like PayPal (2.9%!!!!) Jason My Contributions: Paypal Payflow PRO | Rollover Category Images | Authorize.net Invoice Number Fix

buss Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 What are the fees with authorize.net? I can't find anything about it, and I don't want to go through one of their resellers, that just increases my costs.

You have to use a reseller with Authorize.net as they do not handle accounts themselves. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - A. Einstein
