shervin Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 The Googlebot has been in my Who's Online all day at different periods ... I've been up for a month, sitemaps, SEO up, all over MSN but no google. The sitemaps site says one day "last crawled July 4" then now it says "last crawled June 30". Basically Google has a LOT of synch problems.. their data centers are so out of synch its obvious. am I about to be indexed when google wont leave my site alone today?
Guest Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Having Google crawl your site is good, but you will still be in the sandbox for about 8-12 months so don't get your hope too high. You should see results from MSN first, then Yahoo a few months later, last to get good indexing will be Google. Just use your time to tweek your SEO to make sure it is working properly.

Basically Google has a LOT of synch problems.. their data centers are so out of synch its obvious. am I about to be indexed when google wont leave my site alone today? The answer is: maybe. I got my pages indexed with google fairly quickly only to be dropped completely after a couple of weeks. Googlebot never stopped visiting but only started crawling again a few days ago. My homepage is back in the index but all other pages (about 30 crawled products pages) are not. The only thing you can do is wait and use the time to get good backlinks. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. abra123cadabra Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 You can check your web logfiles for googlebot. Or you can install the supertracker contribution which gives further information on your shops visitors. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. jainmukul Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I was looking at the logs and found that it usually takes 3-4 days for google to index the pages after they are being crawled. Above is based on finding that I used the log file to get the date of crawl and then compare google mention on the search page. Meanwhile there are old pages that has been updated and I have installed Ultimate SEO URL and changed the Meta Tags for the site, but I found that the problem is that Google is not checking so far on the pages that has been already old indexed by rather created other pages which are not on the index. MSN for that matter is doing at same speed for my case, but Yahoo is far slow, I see its' slurp having low activity and hence wondering what can be the best way to work on that with it. I have also started sending URL sitemap to google and it's surely helping to make googlebot come and play on my site. Mukul
dont_care Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 FYI: If you're running adsense ads on any of the oscommerce pages, you'll see googlebot come by every page access to see what the page is about and serve up relevant ads. But, that's not the same as seeing 100 instances of googlebot in the whos_online.php page. In that case, it's the spider.
shervin Posted July 23, 2006 Author Posted July 23, 2006 ive still yet to be added to google. seriously, google is just a SLOTH
