henryvuong Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I'm a newbie to OSC. One of the first things I stumble on is the global register. By default, OSC works with Register Global set to on. This function is set to off on my host server so I have to apply a patch to OSC to make it work under this condition. Although I may be able to turn Global Register ON, I'm convinced that it is more secure to run OSC with this function off. Am I correct? But since OSC works with Register Global on by default, what about the contributions? Will they work with Register Global off?

I have not yet installed one that hasn't worked and I know on my shop I have about 40-50 contributions and I am using the patch and I have had no problems in the year it has been up. I would prefer off for security; but Auctionblox, a contribution that integrates OSC with eBay, requires Register Global on. :sweating:
