fhblack Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Hello, I have noticed some discrepancies with a test order I am placing. I have products that are very small in weight (.01) of a pound and I have placed them into my product listing - however when I place my order it automatically makes it 5kilograms boosting the shipping rate drastically. Is there a way for me to have this converted to pounds, and not to have this 5kilograms? I think I have all my weights correct.
choosealogin Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 The words you see at checkout like "kgs" or "lbs" or "kilograms", etc ...are just text. It is made to work with any weight unit...you can change the text (kgs). The text to change is in the language file of the shipping module you're using. If you're not sure where that is, let me know which shipping module you use. As far as adding weight, there are a few reasons... One - you do need to keep all of your products in terms of the same unit of weight - you can't have some that are in terms of pounds and some in terms of kgs, or anything else. Keep it all in the same unit of measure and you'll be fine. Check the settings in your admin panel >>configuration >>shipping and packaging Tare weight - will be added to each order to allow for packaging. You can set that to zero if you like Larger package percent increase - allows for yet more tare weight on bigger items...you can set that to zero if it suits your needs. The max package weight is the most that osC will put in one "box" at checkout. Heavier orders are split.
