seth13 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 is it possible to set up osCommerce so customers dont have to set up an account, ie by pass the welcome please sign in page, they simply add their items to shopping cart, fill out form, without having to set up password and are directed to payment gateway also how adaptable is the account information, ie date of birth seems unnessasary, as does fax number, newsletter and company, and i would rather title as apose to radio button asking gender
Cathi Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 is it possible to set up osCommerce so customers dont have to set up an account, ie by pass the welcome please sign in page, they simply add their items to shopping cart, fill out form, without having to set up password and are directed to payment gatewayYes, there are several contributions that will let you do this. Here is the one I'm using PWA also how adaptable is the account information, ie date of birth seems unnessasary, as does fax number, newsletter and company, and i would rather title as apose to radio button asking genderYou add, remove, or rename the fields as you wish. ♥14steve14 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 As already said use the PWA contribution. As to the fiels in create account, some of the ones you want to remove can be disabled within admin. As to the others you just remove the code in your create account page, and any others where the information is. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
seth13 Posted July 5, 2006 Author Posted July 5, 2006 that is good news thanks for your help guys Steve i was just looking at your site i noticed it look very different from other templates, was that hard to do, can i design a site using xhtml and just upload it as my own template. I'm hoping to create something with the same look as my present site www.grooming-health.com, only without the problems my present shopping cart is giving me
♥14steve14 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 The basics of my site is osc as standard but with the left and right column content removed, and the column width reduced. I also added a contribution called infobox skin manager that allows you to alter the look of all the info boxes. Apart from the menus the site is pretty much standard. It has taken a long time to get it to work as i wanted it, as by removing the two columns you have to have the required content included somewhere. All i have to do now is to enter all the required products, and sort out the custom comp[uter option. Should only take a long time. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
