Hi,

My google page rank dropped from 3 to 0. Not sure what happened, I didn't change servers or anything. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

If this is the first time you noticed it, then I would just ignore it for now. It is not uncommon for it to flucuate as google syns their databases. If it doesn't return in a few weeks, then you need to look into at that point.

I'm having problems with google too. One day all my pages are in the index, next day they are all gone to be back a week later. Nobody really knows what's going on. Some think it has to do with googles new algorithms. However, there is not much you can do other than watch the "Google dance".

Don't build your business on Google alone seems to be the most important advice these days.

Hi,

Just wanted to know, my site started to get indexed about 4 month ago by google, but it still has page rank 0

is it ok? did anyone take that long to get for example page rank 1 at least?

Thank you

Well, google doesn't know about any backlinks to your site. Maybe start here as google seems to take these as an indicator of your sites importance.

You have lots of pages indexed with google but a lot have session ids and that's not good. If you go on you product-info pages, there's an error at the top

Warning: sprintf(): Too few arguments in /home/hayshop/public_html/product_info.php on line 182

Thank you abra, I corrected the mistake, as for backlink, i registered the site in some catalogs, but they are in web pages that contain the term "www.hayshop.net", not link to

Well, I think I need to wait some more time:)

It's a waiting game. If you google for my shop www.finefoods24.com some of the directory listings are shown in the results but the link: command with google says there are no backlinks. It's annoying but what can you do?

It's just strange. Google recommends to build backlinks. So now they have indexed directory pages with links to my shop and they don't appear as backlinks. Makes you wonder when a backlink is a backlink for Google.

Well, I have a lot of time. Going on holidays soon so no rush about getting too much traffic right now. ;-)

Which google backlinks matter for them is nothing to do with which backlinks they show.

Just read it somewhere that google is going to watch the reciprocal links. Reciprocal links as such does not provide the relevant contents and it's intention is very different than truely recommending a site. I am specifically avoiding such links in www.S2Fashions.com where I sell Indian Ethnic Wear like Salwar Kameez, Kurtis etc.

Reciprocal links - Just something to watch!

Google doesn't show all back links, and it's best to get that from yahoo. As for the pagerank, here are a couple free tools of good use:

McDar Datacenter Quality Check - Use this tool to check your SERPS and PR across lots of Google Datacenters. Very useful to see if an update is happening at G as you'll see vastly different results at different datacenters (like showing at 10 on one DC and 720 on another).

Digital Point Keyword Tracking - This is a great free tool that you can use to track keywords linking to your site, pagerank, and back links. Google works out of the box with a Google API key of yours (you need to signup and load the key in DPs tool), while the MSN and Yahoo tool needs a piece of code on your server. It's a great tool and you can graph the results too. One thing you'll see if you use this tool is the crazy swings in SERPs from Google that happen daily now.
