everyth5 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 After getting some professional reviews of my site ( of which I am truly greatful ), I have decided to try to install a template to spruce up the site. I have downloaded one of the free templates from a website, but before I go ahead and try it, possibly destroy my site, I wanted to get some more expert advise/opinions. Do most free templates work with osCommerce or is there something that I should look out for? The template I downloaded is an HTML template and it looks like the main things that it installs is the HTML code and fonts. It also has a psd file, which I am not familiar as to which program that is for. Also if this template should work, what is the easiest way to install it?
b0881 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 The only thing I can help you there with is the psd file, its associated to photoshop, you can't import it into your page, only edit it with the software photoshop. As for the rest I hope someone else can help.

If you already have some products etc I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you would be ready to re add them again. Not that it will mess it up but with templates you never know. Another thing to think about is if you are looking to add or already have added contributions you will have to do a LOT of html and php editing. I just got the hang of it with this template and that's only because I know alot of html and enought php to understand what is what. I got my template from Template Monster you can check out my site if you want to see what I've done thecdmall dot com and it wasn't easy to be honest. But goodluck if you need any help or even another template let me know.

Thanks for the advice I have about 10 right now If you want pm me with your email and I can send you a screenshot of them. The one I'm using I just liked when I first seen it so I got it. I don't have any like the one you have which I have to say is very nice. But you never know.
