gray_bale Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Can I install and run 2 seperate shops on same PC. Different directories thou. As I have one store running OK. Would it just be the case of installing a new copy of Oscommerce, just to get all of the mysql databases. Then copy over all of the files from the running store into my new store. Or is there a simpler option, like 'export' or 'copy store' or any other good sounding phrases. Or perhaps a contribution could be made ??? not by me thou, as I am to simple. Or do I just have to grin and bare it, and do everything again ???
kgt Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 If you want two separate stores, then have two different installations. If you want two storefronts that are actually for one store, then you can set this up yourself or use one of the contributions (multi-stores) for this. Contributions Discount Coupon Codes Donations
gray_bale Posted July 5, 2006 Author Posted July 5, 2006 Whats the pro's and con's of either having two separate stores, or two storefronts ???
kgt Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Pro's and Con's? That kinda depends on your needs, don't you think? If you need two separate stores with different products and stock, then a Pro to using two databases is that you get different products and stock. If you need the stores to have the same products and stock, then two databases is a Con. Contributions Discount Coupon Codes Donations
