i-SHOT Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /store/admin/categories.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. " That's the exact message I got when I tried to update/edit one of my current products in the Catalog. I've tried changing the permission on the file to everything one noted in the responses I've seen here but of to no avail - 644, 444, 400.....even got desperate and tried 777 which for some reason, shut me out of Catalog permanently. Here's some additional info .................. I can go into Catalog and set-up new products which I can then easily go back to edit BUT not for any existing ones. My product descriptions are all in HTML and here's the funnt thing; if I took a new description to an existing product, I can edit it san any problem BUT when I try editing a new product using HTML description for an older product, the above error message rears its ugly head. For some reason, I feel the error lies in the description portion of the page; I can edit anything BUT the description. I've spent the better part of the last few days trolling thro' this forum and I still can't seem to find a solution. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks. Helmie Ashiblie Helmie Ashiblie
i-SHOT Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Well, I sorta found a solution for this, albeit with some changes that I'm not too happy about.... I decided to focus on the issue of the use of the HTML for Product Description and as such, I started deleting one paragraph at a time to see where the issue was and lo & behold, I was able to edit the old products ONLY after I deleted all scripts from the HTML code. Most of my HTML codes have scripts that allows one to click on the corresponding thumbnails for a larger image and once I deleted such scripts, I didn't ave any error/forbidden messages. I hope this info might be of use to someone. In the meantime, if anyone knows why this is so or has an idea (or two) as to why this came about after almost 2 years of the site being up, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks all. Helmie Ashiblie
