I have a few questions about this download feature:

1) If I set a free download ($0.00) will they still go to paypal etc and have to try to check out?

 

2) What should the download folder permissions be?

 

3) Would lines in the file name (ex. downloadable_file.mp3) make it unable to download?

 

Thanks I'm just trying to get a better understanding of this feature. I've tried to get it to work before but had no success. Kept getting a blank screen when I go to download the file.

there's a "free of charge" contribution that you should install. I use it on my site. If the amount in your shopping cart is $0... it won't go to PayPal.

stick to letters, numbers and the underscore and you should have no problems
