my scrap shop G Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 can somebody please define what "restore" and "delete" do. If I delete the last backup shouldn't my site return to a previously saved version? I have tried both and can't seem to get my site back to where it was yesterday before I messed it up. :(

Restore, will overwrite your database with the one selected. Tim

If you are in your admin/tools/backup, then this only backsup or deletes the database. It does not change any of your php files. So for instance if you made some changes to index.php or header.php then these changes will be unaffected by restoring a database. All your files should be backed up as well as your database. Does your web host have Cpanel? This is what I am most familiar with. There is a backup feature that copies all your files into a nice little zip file that can be downloaded or restores. Tim
my scrap shop G Posted July 2, 2006 Author Posted July 2, 2006 oh... yes it does have a cpanel, eek! something else to learn quicksticks! I was getting really annoyed with it actually, because it wasn't restoring any of my changed files, but it did delete stock, customers and an order..... ! any way to restore them?
