Guest Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 I recently received 2 payments from paypal for which i had no idea what they were in relation to. So i loggin into my store www.cargodirect.biz which is showing 1 order processing and 2 new customers registered the order processing is in relation to 1 customer but the 2nd customer doesn't have an order processing listed. i did not get the usual automated response from my store to confirm these orders / new customers.. whats going on ? :'(
Guest Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 okay, i solved this one myself, i hadn't recieved details of orders due to a chanage of email address on my part (duh... no brainer there !) HOWEVER the 2nd part of the problem is a little more worrying. i've just found out that if you are using paypal as a gateway and the customer doesn't click on return to merchant after making the payment you will only receive the payment and not the details of order... this is kinda retarded.... any suggestions ?

What contribution are you using for paypal. Mine notifies me even if the customer does not click return.

You have two choices, if you do not accept any other payments on your paypal account other than your one site you can set the autoreturn in you paypal merchant options. If you accept other payments to your account then you need to install the ipn module and it will record the order as the customer leaves your site to go to paypal so you have the order info even if they do not return to your site as they should The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. What contribution do you have that notifies you "even if the customer does not click return" -- are you saying that the order shows confirmed and all details are there in this case?
