I'm just trying to make the admin search box search for model number as well as product name. Does anyone know if there is any way to make this happen without a huge headache?

This si really driving me nuts now. I have tried to add the products_model to the search as it is on the regular storefront search with the only result being that the search ends up not working at all. Anybody?
