sallyvigar Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Dear All, I started a new company called Butterflies and Dragons with my sister a few months ago - and we chose the osCommerce platform for our website. We have spent many long nights to finally come to where we are at today. Being mothers (I have two kids and my sister has two) we decided to go into the childrens toy and game market. We have chosen some beautiful childrens toy - most of which are wooden and traditional - the kind that we all had when were kids. We are now stockists of the famous Melissa and Doug range of art and craft toys - Melissa and Doug are famous for their hands counting peg puzzles, pet toy sounds and opposite cards. We also have a lovely range of room accessories for themed childrens rooms - from Orange Tree Toys - these include height charts, bookends and mobiles. Please do take a look at our shop - Butterflies and Dragons - and we would love to hear any feedback that you have on the design and ease of use. Currently, we only offer online orders to the UK - due to the large number of items that we carry at very different weights and sizes. However, international customers are invited to contact us directly with their order so we can offer individual pricing to their country. We very much look forward to hearing from the osCommerce forum, With thanks, Sally Vigar
Andrew Yuen Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 I like the nice and simple design. Few suggestions: Center the Go Shopping infobox header, change the rollover color to the navigation links in the category infobox to some color that matches your site, your footer has too much info and is cluttered. Guest Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Ok, I have to start out and go "awwww how cute!" Great company/site name! Although, I do have to defend the dragon a bit in that you see a full butterfly in the logo, but only the ridges of the dragon?!?!? Come on! Where's the dragons face at least?? Geesh! Poor widdle dragon! *chuckles* Overall site design - love it! Yes, change the mouse over link color - that grey isn't that great...perhaps the maroon color of your site? Love the layout of your product listing page - fast loading images. How about putting the "how to get in touch with us" info in with the "contact us" page? Will eliminate one page and confusion for the customer. You could possibly do the same for Useful Links and Links. Especially since those on your "links" page are also very useful!!!!!!!! Love your calendar of events page. You're really getting your name out there! Overall, very little complaint with your site. I love it! And you're so active in your community! I see no reason why your company won't go far. Best of luck!!!!
♥bruyndoncx Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Congratulations with your very nice site ! I couldn't find anything wrong with it :D I only wondered why you have not kept the standard manufacturer box functionality to find other 'suitable' products, ie list by manufurer/suitability in your case ? Carine KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support). So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?! Find the most frequent unique errors to fix: grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt
spax Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Great looking site, well done! One point though. It all looks professional until you see the mobile number at the bottom. Gives the impression of a fly-by-night, know what I mean?
