matthewbarr Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Hi folks, Just getting to grips with my first install. I was wondering what people considered to be the best payment module for UK-based sites. What's everyone using? I'm playing with PayPal right now, but I'd rather have something with more seamless credit card processing... Matt
♥Vger Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 I'd recommend Protx Direct. The customer stays on your website, it's only the data that is sent to Protx for verification and then back again. Vger

Matt I use NOCHEX - a LOT better than PayPal with all their chargebacks! NOCHEX prices are pretty competitative and the out of the box install works perfectly with NOCHEX.

matthewbarr Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks guys. I'm going to try out Nochex and maybe investigate Barclays. I want to avoid monthly charges (as as Protx) for now, since I'm just figuring stuff out. Matt
khime Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I'm using HSBC epayments and theres a contribution for it. PROS * Works quite well / reliable contribution * You get the "big name" of your customers seeing a HSBC logo so they may have more confidence in your site * Rates are ok (2.35% charge on credit cards although I believe other people can get cheaper?) CONS * Your customers get redirected to the HSBC branded website which isnt seamless (unless you use something like Protx as a middleman) * When customers enter incorrect info (e,g mistake on 1st line of address or postcode) the payment is confirmed on HSBC screen but when redirected to your site it goes to checkout_payment.php which makes the customer think that they havent paid correctly and no email is sent to customer / no order is generated. We have to then check what the customer has ordered and then manually create the order.
