removing number beside top categories e.g. tyres (16)

hi guys,

 

I don't want customers to see how many products are in each category as is displayed on my homepage. How would I get this number removed?

 

at the min it's like:

 

tyres (249)

gizzmos (4)

etc

 

I have lots of products in some and few in others and it looks a bit silly for the categories with not much in them, so it'll be much better without the number.

In the Configuration under 'My Store' there is a parameter called 'Show Category Counts'. Make it false and you should no longer see the numbers.

one other quetsion now the numbers are gone some categories still have the -> after which the number used to appear and others don't, any idea?

doh! its just telling me that those categories have further sub categories :-)
