How do you or can you remove the word osCommerce from my url

and should I remane my admin folder even though it is passwprd protected ?

How do you or can you remove the word osCommerce from my url

The quickest and easiest option is it rename the folder to something else via FTP, then just change any reference to the old name to the new one in your two config files. To remove it completely you will have to move the entire store into a different folder. To move it into the root - simply FTP up all the files and folders of the store into the root folder - then again change the paths in the config files.

Not really necessary - but if you do rename it, again - just update the paths in the config files

ok so if I rename it big red then any where in the config files it points root/oscommerce/ what ever next here/

would be chaged to /root/big red/ whatever next here/

yes but take the space out - this will cause problems in some (older) browsers.

 

So /bigred/ instead of /big red/
