victoriouspirate Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Hi all. Just spent the past day setting up my store and I'm almost done! Just a few mini snags: Whenever I logged on to my FTP I had to shut off my Firewall or it wouldn't connect. Since downloading the software it always connects, Firewall or not. Can this be reversed somehow? I'm afraid my Firewall is compromised. And one more: I'm concerned that I can log into the admin page without a password. How can I add one? Thanks to anyone in advance for the help ;)

I can't think of a reason why the osC installation would have affected your firewall settings. The only thing I can think of is perhaps at some point you received an 'alert' asking if you wanted to allow a connection...and you might have selected 'yes', in which case it could have set that setting as a default. FTP usually uses port 21, I think. If you have that port open, then it will work w/o disabling your firewall, which I think is OK but I'm not an expert on the issue. Maybe look at the port settings in your firewall.
