hubcat Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 The Buy Now buttons on your home page are intimidating. I wanted more info, but the only choice is Buy Now. It actually takes you to a more info page, but if I wasn't evaluating your site I would have left without clicking. Give people a More Info option in the product boxes on the home page. The FAQ is great, but I might not ever have gotten there. Right on your home page I want some info on what the heck it is. Get rid of the standard "We offer high quality..." text and give me some fun info on how my life will improve if I get one of these cool things I've never heard of. At the bottom of the page you have: Safe Shopping Guarantee | Lifetime Guarantee | Shipping & Returns I expected these to be links, but they're not. Are they supposed to be? They should go somewhere. Good luck, Adrienne
Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I like this site a lot, it's far from perfect, but it's definately in the right direction. Just a couple of quick notes. Why do you have captions under the pictures which have seemingly no relevance to the page content, i.e. On the about us page, you have an image of a girl with a sock in front of NY skyline. Why do you need the words 'New York skyline' under the picture? In the footer of each page, you have "Use of this Web site constitutes acceptance of the User Agreement and Privacy Policy. " The problem is that I can't find a user agreement at all, and it took me quite a while to find the privacy policy, they should really both be linked from the footer. I would personally like to see the header logo moved to the right a bit, so that there was some space between it and the section tabs, the header just looks a bit squashed together to me.
Guest Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Couple of more... Take off the product count in the catagories - no need to let customers know ahead of time how little products you have. You want your customers to click into the categories ... Your left column - way too bare. Where's the rest of the info boxes? Either have a left column, or make tabs for everything above: FAQ, Privacy Policy, Shipping/Returns, Links, Contact Us Contact Us page - a definate MUST! Physical address, email address, phone number, hours of operation. *a few minutes later* Ok, I found out where this is.... but way too many pages to get there. Why not put ALL the info on ONE page ?? Don't make your customers hunt and peck for anything. Why have a testimonial tab if you have them at the bottom of the main page? Use the tab for something else. Resellers page - at the bottom you tell people to visit your "careers" page ... where is that? Contact form - one of the subject options...first one. Did Sockit "saved" your gear - should be "save" your gear. Overall, nice looking site, like the black/white pics with the product in color - nice touch. Just need more "pizzazz" on front page.

I do like how the header "shrinks" gets smaller when you arent on the index. Very Cool. But the bottom half of the site dosent really match your header. Just some css adjustments should get it straight. unless that is the effect you were going for. Nice though, I can see that amount of work you put in to it. I thought this stuff was gonna be easy!! BACK IT UP BEFORE YOU JACK IT UP!!!!
