generate licence key online by call to external web site

Hi,

 

My shop has software to download. When the customer purchases an item I want to be able to provide them with the licence key to activate the software. I get the licence key from a third party software protection company so I need to call an external web site, get the key and then display it to the customer and also email it to them (and to me for my records).

 

Any ideas?

use the fsockopen/fclose establish a connection and retrieve the key. Then present it to the customer.
