shayrgob
I tried my bestest to stray away from the stock layout and I think I did a decent job considering I don't know much about php. I couldn't have done this w/o the help of this community. THANK U ALL SO MUCH! I just finished up and I'm looking for any suggestions or criticisims. my scrap shop G
it looks fab!! In your welcome blurb you might want to make your email a link. I love that curved corner on your "new this month" box. I've been too lazy to do those but it looks so good. (geez, we're being a big geeky now!!) I like your site - it's easy to navigate, which is the most important thing for customers. Why do you have it so narrow though? You have to scroll to see it, when it might fit all on one screen?
Guest
I'd say the headers is nice and the navigation is to the point with minimal clicks- love it. I've posted several automotive websites using oscommerce engine. A couple are all made by the company --seem to look like your in that direction :P Keep up the great work! abra123cadabra
I had a look through your new store and here comes the feedback: 1. Using WinXP, Firefox 1.5, 1024x780 but not fullscreen - Layout doesn't break and is nicely centered. 2. Logo looks good but is flipped horizontally which leaves the writing being obviously wrong. 3. The rest, except the category infobox, is stock with changed CSS to black... but in the product listings, shopping cart etc. 4. There is no information in privacy, shipping, conditions, contact us. 5. Who are you, where are you, how can I contact you apart from the contact us form and email? Where do you sell to? I actually even don't know the country you're in. 6. I had to click on several categories to finally find products. Very disappointing for a potential customer. Ask yourself the main question: Being a first time visitor on your site, would you buy from yourself? I wouldn't because I have no indication that you are a trustworthy dealer. Maybe I overlooked some features that make it "not stock" (yes, I saw the paypal checkout and that you moved some navi links to the footer), if so, please point them out to me so that I can check them again. My feedback may sound harsh and negative but I only point out things that strike me as either "wow" or what would put me off buying from the store I'm checking out. It's hopefully useful to fix the areas where you drive potential customers away. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong. Andrew Yuen
I think that the right side of your main page is way to busy. I would change the rollover on the links to a color that matches your site. I would also delete the category pictures. Other then that I would change the buttons away from the default OScommerce look and make them match the rest of your site. Guest
Why do you have it so narrow though? You have to scroll to see it, when it might fit all on one screen? So that it's useable by people with lower screen resolutions
Guest
You make a big point of it being 'not stock', but apart from the header image and a colour change it looks very stock to me. I'd lose the date and requests since at the bottom, anyone who doesn't know the date can look at the clock in the corner of their screen, and who cares about the number of server requests. ♥Vger
Sorry, 'stock' buttons, 'stock' layout, 'stock' unfilled Information Box pages. No add-ons, such as Meta Tags or Ultimate SEO URL's, no SSL. You've changed a few things, but it's not vastly different from a stock install. Vger
