cant get up and running

I've uploaded the catalog file onto my server and set the permisions of the config file to 777 but when I try to install oscommerce eg. www.mysite.com.au/catalog/install/ i get "This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."

Its probably really simple but what am I doing wrong?

Try adding index.php onto the end of that and see if it will let you proceed, or else just go to http://www.yourdomain.com/catalog and see if the redirect to the install will kick in.
