mvdonner
I seem to have misplaced the paperwork where I recorded my osCommerce login and password. I have a directory on the Plesk server httpdocs where the osCommerce application is located. Can anyone suggest how I can either retrieve the information or reset it. I tried adding another database admin name but that does not seem to allow me to log in. Regards... Dave B Hamilton, Ontario.

mvdonner
on the server, go to catalog/includes and find the file configure.php. open it in a text editor and look for: DB_SERVER_USERNAME. hope that helps. rj RJ OK, I see the username and password now. The username and password is exactly what I thought it was but I still cannot log in. I edited the file with a new username and password, still cannot log into the osCommerce admin screen. I am using a url like https://mydomainname.com/osCommerce/admin which is bringing me to the login screen. I can view the site just fine and can conduct a transaction with no problems. My hosting ISP moved my site to another server but I would not think that should cause a problem. Maybe I will give them a call and see if they can be of any help. Thanks for the assistance. Dave B. mvdonner
I have the same problem and i have posted a message on the board but no replies. Could someone please help with this. Where is the link? If you look earlier in this thread, you will see what the reply was to my original post. I thought that was the answer to my original question but it actually was not the corret fix. I had someone at work who is very good at programming fix it for me. The login name and password are contained in the .htaccess file. I am not sure how to edit this file as the required information is hidden. I tried viewing the .htaccess file and cannot see anything. Maybe someone on this forrum could suggest how to edit the .htaccess file to reset your user name and password. Regards....
