Complex referral system

Hello All,

 

I am trying to find a way to offer a rewards program a bit more complex that what I've seen in contributions so far. I would like to have a system where the customer is offered a spot to enter someone's referral number during checkout. The hard part is that I want the person who referred me the customer to receive points equivilent to 10% of sale into their account. I also want the customer who entered his friends referral number to get 5% off his purchase. So the person who does the referring earns 10% per sale and the person who makes the purchase receives a 5% discount. Any Ideas?
