Ok First i`m new to php and oscommerce overall.I managed to install the cart and now in the process of customizing it to implement into my already webpage.

i managed to fit it into my body table in the mainpage now here is what i need to do but can`t find a way how .

I have 5 buttons in the top of my page ,all were for categories lets say movies, games, electronics etc.

Now i need those buttons to link to the corresponding category page lets say like using the oscommerce example when the customer clicks on my "hardware button" that the hardware page appears like if were to be clicking the hardware link under "categories box" .

Please help to achiving this as i searched all over the forum and can`t get to find how.I belive it can be done as i linked one button already to the shopping cart by pointing it to the shopping_cart.psp but i just don`t know what are the psp pages for the categories.

ok go to your web site

and type admin after the .com

it will look like

http://www.yoursite.com/admin

from there look for Catalog

select a catalog but do not press the image (that will take you inide the products) you will see that you have a "EDIT, DELETE , MOVE" by pressing edit you will be able to change the names of those links

at the end of the day the code will be good

I tried but get error 404 page not found .

But i belive i`m in the right path , i managed to link a button to a category page like this :

<a href="https://********.com/~********/********/catalog/index.php?cPath=1&osCsid=30429528b590fee2d7071f57a83d0f0f" >

Now am i in the right track...I tried and it works i just have to do the same to other buttons.

Also why can`t i do the mysite/admin ?? is it because i have ".htaccess"

And thanks for the prompt reply

If you want to make the link a little shorter, you can take the session ID out and it will still go to the same page. i.e., take out &osC and everything after that.

I can't do the /admin thing either, but I figure that's a good thing because it also means nobody else can. :P
