PHP help - programming modification

I need to add an else if command to the includes/modules/product_listing_col.php page at or around line 23 as follows:

  <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
<tr><td class="smallText"><?php echo $listing_split->display_count(TEXT_DISPLAY_NUMBER_OF_PRODUCTS); ?></td>
  <td class="smallText" align="right"><?php echo TEXT_RESULT_PAGE . ' ' . $listing_split->display_links(MAX_DISPLAY_PAGE_LINKS, tep_get_all_get_params(array('page', 'info', 'x', 'y'))); ?></td>
</tr>
	 <tr><td><?php  if  { }
else { 	//do nothing}  ?></td></tr>
 </table>

What I want to put in here is that if we are looking at a certain category then display an image, if not then do nothing. The idea is that the product thumbs are in three colums and this one category is sorted in a specific order. I want to put a header image over the three colums to explain what's in each.

I'm not a programmer but have been using OSC for a few years, so I know where things are supposed to go, I'm just not able to write PHP code...

Is there anyone out there who can knock up a couple of lines of code to help me?

Thanks in advance,

Andrew
