Stealth1
Hi, I just installed OScommerce and i was going through the admin panel and came to the modules section. For all 3 of the module sections there is nothing listed under each and im not sure why? For each it says "Module Directory: DIR_FS_CATALOG_MODULESpayment/" but the last part "payment" is substituted for shipping and order total in the other sections. Is there something wrong with my installation or are the modules not pre-installed? Also i have been looking through some of hte contributions and would like to install them but havent found what is necessary to install them as they dont come with any install documents
abra123cadabra
When you select a payment, shipping or order total module, you should see in the top right corner an install button. Click it and it will install the module. For the contributions, I haven't seen any contribution yet that comes without any kind of install instructions. You have to download and unzip them. In the zip file you find everything you need to install the contribution. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. As for the contributions I downloaded the paypal fee charge 2.1 and there is nothing but files that would need to be put up on the FTP. I could only find two paypal fee charge contributions. None of them is called paypal fee charge 2.1 so I'm not sure where you got the contrib from. 1) http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...arch,paypal+fee This one comes with instructions and adds a visible fee to order total. 2) http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...arch,paypal+fee This one comes without instructions and is not visible in order total as it replaces the standard paypal module. About your existing/non-existing modules in admin: Did you install osC yourself by uploading the code you got from www.oscommerce.com or did you use any other version or something preinstalled by your webhost? You see, I am not using Authorize.net but when I go to my payment module section in admin, it's there and has the install button. You never know what they left out, though. No idea if this is a solution but you could download the latest relase of osC http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads, unzip it and upload the missing files in the catalog and catalog/admin section (includes, modules, languages). Be careful not to overwrite already modified/existing ones. After that go to your admin panel and check if they are listed now. No guarantee that this will work but it's worth a try. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. One of the following is true: 1) You have not set DIR_FS_CATALOG_MODULES for the proper directory (this is usually preset so its been changed since the install) 2) You have a missing ', " or ` in application_top.php or configure.php 3) While editing another file in your admin you have inadvertantly removed a ', ", or `. You should first go through a false purchase in your oscommerce, and if it shows shipping, and payment options to you AS A CUSTOMER then you need to look in the admin/ directory for the problem, as the issue is soley with your admin section. If no options for shipping or payment are available to you AS A CUSTOMER then it is most likely in your configure.php or application_top.php. In this box there were no options at all for payment options. I have not modified any of the php files I just changed the main info like company name, personal name etc etc. Since I havent modified much would it be ideal to just re-install the program or replace/add the files from the most recent version? Stealth1
also when i look through the ftp i find the modules folder under "includes" and there are php files in the modules folders for paypal etc. so there must be something in the coding or where its looking for the module files? abra123cadabra
So they are there and your configuration files are not set correctly. Check the settings in /catalog/admin/include/configure.php and /catalog/includes/configure.php You already got a little hint for the admin part: look for DIR_FS_CATALOG_MODULES my setting for admin reads: define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_MODULES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/modules/'); and for the catalog part it reads: define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/'); I hope that helps. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. '/'); and for the catalog part it reads: define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . Stealth1
I also get this message at the top when there is a spot for images: "Error: Catalog images directory does not exist: DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES"
abra123cadabra
I'm not an expert at this as my setup is working fine. In the configure.php files you need to change the DOCUMENT_ROOT settings. After that everything else should fall into place. See the original files for comparison. There are comments about what should be entered where. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Guest
I too seem to be having the exact same problem. I haven't done any file modifications. I ran through the install script and everything is fine except for the modules. I've since deleted my installation 3 times and reinstalled with the same results.
