i would like to put the following line on the bottom of all my pages:

Copyright © 2006 Company Name, All Rights Reserved

Powered by osCommerce

Would that be legal? I know that osC has © Year Name pwd by osC, but I am not sure about the all rights reserved part.

Help.

In catalog/includes/languages/english.php

define('FOOTER_TEXT_BODY', 'Copyright © 2003 <a href="http://www.oscommerce.com" target="_blank">osCommerce</a><br>Powered by <a href="http://www.oscommerce.com" target="_blank">osCommerce</a>');

As long as your store design has changed enough from the standard design then your copyright message is OK.

If you're interested in a deterrent effect, or if you like the phrase then maybe you use it. However, it's worth nothing that the phrase "all rights reserved" has absolutely no legal effect, and the a valid copyright exists regardless of whether you write anything at all (though use of the notice is still required to avail yourself of certain statutory damages).
