Modifying the categories box.

So far so good thanks to the knowledge base and forums.

I am trying to change the categories box.

What I want to do is have an image as the background for the whole box, and then have the different categories show as normal as above.

I do not need the box header as this will be part of the background.

What do I keep and what do I get rid of so that only the box contents show over the background.

Thanks.

Just use CSS to set the background image and all your text will still be above the background

in your stylesheet page

change this

.infoBoxContents {
 background: (whatever color you have)
 font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
 font-size: 10px;
}

to

.infoBoxContents {
 background:url(directory of your pic);
 font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
 font-size: 10px;
}

hope this helps if you need to assign different colors / backgrounds to each box you have to create a new class like

.infoBoxContents2 {
 background:url(whatever color / pic);
 font-family: Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
 font-size: 10px;
}

then assign it to that box

hope this helps

Thanks for the replies Alan.

The CSS side of things is not a problem. I will most probably create a new class for the categories box as it will be unique in it's appearance.

What I was looking for is a breakdown of the code for the box, so that I could utilise the contents (ie the categories links) without the box details.

Am still in an early learningphase of php unfortunately.

I cannot work out where the line is drawn between the header and contents of the box, and the code relaying the appearance and the links, as there doesn't appear to be a different row , etc.

My thoughts was to comment out that box and make a new one with the link code inside, without the header reference.

Thanks again for your help. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
