Paypal/Credit Card Icons in the left column

Recommended Posts

I tried the methods described in the knowledge base to insert a rectangular .gif into the left column under the "languages" box, but the .gif and the title of the php file kept appearing to the right of the column and all the way at the top near the header. I just wanted to display the credit cards we accept under the currency type in the left column-- how exactly would I go about doing this? also, how would I limit the languages used on the site just to english? Thanks for any help!

In catalog/includes/column_left.php

you can put your image at the bottom, like this

require(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'whats_new.php');

require(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'search.php');

require(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'information.php');

?>

<td align="center"><table><img src="images/yourpicture.gif" /></table></td>

That would center the image in relation to the left column, putting it below that last box on that side.

You can add or delete languages in admin>localization>languages.

ok, so I got the languages -- thanks choose --, but the image is showing up outside the left column at the top of the body of the page under the header...its right between the quick find box and the title of whatever the body of the page the user is on. Any suggestions as to how to alter the code and/or placement to put the image inside the left column, under the languages/currency area? Thanks!

That's strange. I tried it first and it showed up underneath the column. When I put the added code above the ?> tag, it appeared in the way you describe, but with it after the ?> tag, it was below the column. Do you have a link I could see? If you don't want to expose yourself to the masses yet, you can send me a PM w/ the link :)

Or what I also meant to say, is are you sure you put the image code after that php tag ?>?

This is how ours looks. It brings up a popup of Paypal info.

The ?> is the last thing already on the page.

?>

<td align="center"><table><a href="#" onclick="java script:window.open('https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/popup/OLCWhatIsPayPal-outside','olcwhatispaypal','toolbar=no, location=no, directories=no, status=no, menubar=no, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes, width=400, height=350');"><img src="images/horizontal_solution_PP.gif" border="0" /></a></table></td>
