fusc1
help, I am a total novice with this website stuff but I am in it so. I put a website up and found out later that the hosting company blocks emails from PayPal. I contacted them and they are very uncaring about helping me with the issue. So I am going to move to another host. I am not sure what files I need to copy through the Cpanel so I don't have to spend all that time over again re populating the store. I am also trying to figure out how exactly the contributions work. Do I need to install all the previous versions to get something from the newer ones? I am looking specifically at the one for no account required to checkout. Thanks for any and all help you can provide me. Thanks, Anthony
kgt
You need to copy all files in your catalog (and admin) directory. That may be the root of your website, depending on how you installed OSC. You need to use phpMyAdmin to create a backup (SQL dump) of your database. On the new server, copy the catalog (and admin) to the directory they need to be in. Use phpMyAdmin on the new host to create a new database and upload and run the SQL dump you created. Edit include/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php to reflect your new database settings. The contributions are not moderated per se, and each of them operates independently of any guidelines in that respect. Contributions are snippets of code that adjust the way OSC works. In some cases, newer versions of a contribution contain files or instructions just to update previous versions, but in most cases they are the complete download. Read the comments and instructions included with the download. It won't hurt you to download something it turns out you can't use or don't need.
