Moved site = Permission warning

Guest

Recommended Posts

I just moved our site to a new server and I can't get rid of the "able to write to configuration file" warning at the top of the page. I triple checked the permissions on the file and they're right, changed them to 000, 777 and everything in between and the warning didn't change. How do I get rid of it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The permissions are supposed to be set to 644. However, on some servers, due to security stuff, the warning continues until you change the permission to 444. This page has further information as to what the permission is supposed to be on various files.

If you can't change the file permissions, you might want to check with your host. On my test site, I use a local server that doesn't permit you to change the file settings, so I have that warning at the top of my page permanently.

If the file permissions are being changed, but the configuration warning still shows... I have no idea.
