Warning: The primary exchange rate server (oanda) failed for Pound (GBP) - trying the secondary exchange rate server.

Error Error: The exchange rate for Pound (GBP) was not updated via xe. Is it a valid currency code?

When trying to set up my currency to only use Pounds which I want to set as default, I must have deleted something and messed up big time as the above is the error I keep getting.

The problem started because I couldn't get any prices showing only 0's then I managed to get prices showing when editing and inserting but not live. The other incident was when adding products although the products seemed to upload (and can be seen via another computer )if I check the product in admin there is an image on the far left, click it I am told

Warning Warning: No file uploaded. this comes up for all my products.

If you are only using Pounds GBP then in admin set as follows

Title: UK Pound

Code: GBP

Symbol Left: ?

Symbol Right:

Decimal Point: .

Thousands Point: ,

Decimal Places: 2

Value: 1.00000000

Then set this in admin

Switch To Default Language Currency false

Then as an added insurance catalog/includes/languages/english.php

define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'USD');

change to

define('LANGUAGE_CURRENCY', 'GBP');

If deposit does not fit one of the slots provided then you are asking too much! :P

Hi,

I have been having the same problem, however, following the instructions above my prices are still 0.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Will

You are showing 0 for a price because you have not entered one for the product

You also have not tax rate setup for showing prices with tax.

Hi,

Some items are ?0 (awaiting prices) but now that the pence are showing up as well life is wonderful! I don't have any tax listed as the products aren't taxable.

The info you gave did the trick and I am really grateful for your help.
