furiousBall Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I am having problems installing OSC on an IIS server, I ran into the issues with php globals, applied the patch (register_globals_v1.4), then ran into the oscommerce.sql file not being found, I manually ran the sql script in phpmyadmin. After getting the database installed, I did only the configuration portion of the install and got a successfuly message. But at that page when I clicked on the admin button I got "Unable to connect to database server!" Clicking on the Catalog button brought me back to the first install page. I (obviously very new to OSC), so pardon my ignorance with all this. Since I did the DB install manually (from the advice of a forum), have I goofed this up? Or is there a config file I can alter to point to my DB and correct myself? Thanks in Advance!
♥Vger Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 It seems that Windows servers in particular have a problem with writing to the osCommerce configure.php files. I'm guessing that the reason you are having your problem is that the admin/includes/configure.php file is empty of the data it should have. Use the includes/configure.php file as an example of the sort of information your admin/includes/configure.php file should have. Vger
