Parcel Post Calculations in USPS mod

Recommended Posts

I'm building a site that uses only the USPS shipping module. On the checkout_shipping page, the value returned for Parcel Post is always higher than the value for Priority Mail. If I go to the USPS website and calculate the costs for shipping an item, Parcel Post is always lower than Priority Mail.

I've currently disabled Parcel Post from usps.php but was wondering if any one else had encountered this problem and if they were able to solve it.

Thanks,

Mary

Answering my own post - after checking the USPS APIs I set the "machinable" option to "True" in the usps.php file. This made the values returned on the shipping page match the values on the USPS website. When Machinable is set to False, a surcharge is added to the amount.
