I've moved a site from one hosting plan to another. Now I get the following error on all php pages:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'mgscompu_p_os1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/drewca/public_html/osCommerce/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

Please help, I need to get this site up quickly.

Thank you,

~Mark

I'd assume this is a databse error: have you created the database, assigned a user and restored all your data to the new database? Is the login username, password and database the same as they were before? If the aren't, you will need to go into your two configure files and update the database settings.

bobsie18,

Thank you for your reply. The site was moved from my personal web site to another one. The name pointers haven't been updated yet (thank God) to the path is: http://70.87.90.2/~drewca/osCommerce/index.htm.

Some of the site is straight html. When you click on anything that takes to to osCommerce it breaks. The html is in the /osCommerce/ directory and the cart is in /osCommerce/catalog/

It worked fine here: http://mgscomputerservices.com/osCommerce_old/index.htm

but is messed up here: http://70.87.90.2/~drewca/osCommerce/index.htm

Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Have you checked the database settings?

I noticed that the config file wants to point to the url drewcandle.com. That is the old site. I am still working on the site but wanted to move it to the test area which will eventually be the live site once the name servers are updated. But I can't do that until the site is finished.

Can I point the config file to: http://70.87.90.2/~drewca/osCommerce/

???

What are the config files that need to be modified?
